We undertook a new two-story addition, new front porch, new deck/dry deck underneath, new concrete sidewalk and driveway, and a new pool to our 1995 house. After a selection process we chose Jeff Powell of Elite Basements as our contractor to perform all work except the pool, landscaping, and pool decking. Jeff is a unique creature in the world of contractors. He is a perfect combination of experience, talent/skill, integrity, along with being an incredible communicator that has a great eye for design. Unlike many contractors, Jeff has real world experience at building houses, (having built his own), additions, basement remodels, bath renovations, etc. When needed, he would bring out his tool belt and work away with or without his subs with a swiftness and quality that was frankly quite astonishing. His rough and finish carpentry subs are incredible craftsman, and every care is taken to create a finished product with the detail and quality required. The relationship he has with the other subs, such as electrical plumbing, gas, roofing, painting is amazing as well. They respect him greatly, and any issue or concern that I had as a homeowner and expressed to Jeff was always swiftly taken care of. I felt that Jeff was always fair with his pricing and always fair if a surprise popped up that no one could’ve predicted. One of the things I really like about Jeff is that he is an outstanding problem solver. And if you were doing as large a project as we did, you will run into unexpected problems, but each one was taken care of very creatively and professionally. Regarding Jeff’s communication skills, he always answers his phone calls, he always responds to text, he always responds to emails, and he always, without your prodding, gives you a status update of the project if there is a delay for any reason. My wife and I are so happy with the results of our project that we will only use Jeff and Elite Basements going forward as our contractor.
